Aquapac Connected Electronics Case…When my first iPhone failed, I was surprised but when my second iPhone nearly failed, I almost shed a tear. After keeping my iPhones in the front picket of my PFD with the goal of getting good commentary from my long expedition training paddles, I realized I needed some other option and that will not expose my makeshift expedition audio recorders to salt water and that’s when I found the Aquapac Connected Electronics Case.
Here are some features of the case:
- It’s IPX 7, which basically means is submersible for a short time in up to 3ft of water. **I’m aware that the website now says IPX6 (Stormproof) but initially it was IPX7 and I’ve tested it for submersion while doing kayak rolls.
- The case is large enough to hold a high quality Hold Zoom H4N (with a custom shoulder) and the XLR male connector for a lavalier microphone.
- The Durability of this case is great as it withstood the thrashing it got while I did some rolling in the kayak.
Overall, this is an essential piece of gear and one of the only option for protecting my expensive electronics and enabling the on-water audio that I needed. I would absolutely recommend this to any expedition kayaker looking to get some solid kayaking videos while keeping your stuff safe.
